Aiming to develop human resources to lead the tourism industry and creating new value in tourism, the “School of Tourism Sciences and Design” has been established in the College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation.
The school aims to create new value in tourism through humanities approaches exploring human psychology and behavior as well as local history and cultural values, and social science approaches focusing on business development centered around tourism, and science and technology approaches that focus on Society 5.0.
With an emphasis on the wide-area and sustainable development of tourism, it also aims to create new value in tourism and transform the industrial structure, through establishing a regional revitalization platform where all sectors work together, and developing human resources who design tourism value, expanding the population involved.
The School of Tourism Sciences and Design aims to foster human resources who will address the resolution of various issues of tourism industry based on an adequate understanding of the radical social change and empathy for the value on a global scale by utilizing various knowledge of the humanities,social science and natural School of Tourism Sciences and Design science fields, and who will design new value of tourism to look ahead to networked international tourism nation responded to Society 5.0 and new normal lifestyle.
The “Hub and Spoke” logo represents tourism as a “hub” that gathers and connects diverse people, things, societies, and the worlds, and “spokes” that represent the paths returning back to your own world.
We hope that the School of Tourism Sciences and Design creates a hub where diverse students and communities gather, leading and expanding to a new world like shining light.
